I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.

Cape Kiwanda is one of the most iconic places in Oregon; its hilly dunes and craggy coastline are almost otherworldly. Each year, many people come to see this spectacular natural wonder in person, which can be viewed from a large overlook. Unfortunately, this place of sublime beauty is also one of great tragedy; Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area has seen numerous deaths over the years. In an effort to make this vista safer, Oregon State Parks recently added new fences at Cape Kiwanda, which also provide access to previously off-limits ocean views.
Have you visited the overlook at Cape Kiwanda before? What did you think of the views? Share your experiences and photos of this beautiful spot in the comments below!
If you can’t get enough scenic Oregon views, definitely check out the Three Capes Scenic Loop, which cruises past Cape Kiwanda, Cape Meares, and Cape Lookout!
