Watch Beautiful, Athletic Dogs Race Through The Snow In Oregon's Mountains During This Extreme Sled Dog Race
Have you ever watched a dog sled race? It’s a thrilling event to witness, with beautiful, athletic dogs and their mushers speeding over the snowy landscape. There’s an annual event held right here in Oregon that includes four races, one of which is a qualifier for the Iditarod and Yukon Quest races. You’re going to want to make plans now to attend!

The 200-mile race is a qualifying race for teams who hope to participate in the Iditarod and Yukon Quest races.

The vet checks are held in Enterprise at 9 a.m. and at Joseph at 1 p.m. You're welcome to hang out and watch the veterinarians give each dog a thorough check-up. The vets will also be on hand to answer questions about the dogs and the upcoming races.

The starting line is at the Ferguson Ridge Ski Area, and shuttles are available to take you from the parking lot to the start line. Get there early to cheer on your favorite team!

You'll need a Snow Park Pass to hike or ski the 1/4 mile to the trail. The mushers and their teams will pass by sometime between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The Juniors race and 31 mile 2-day races cross the finish line on Thursday and Friday evenings. The 100-mile race finishes on Friday morning, and the 200-mile race finishes on Saturday morning through afternoon.
