Welcome to Sandy River Delta Park, the best dog-friendly park in Oregon. This 1,500-acre scenic gem was acquired by the Forest Service in 1991 and has managed to protect and restore natural resources in the river bottomlands where the Sandy River meets the Columbia River. Gear up for a day of adventure, and don’t forget to bring your fur friends!
While Sandy River Delta Park is dog friendly, the park requests that dogs remain on leash in parking lots, bathrooms, picnic areas, and 100 feet of either entrance to the Confluence Trail. Commercial dog walking is also prohibited.
There's plenty to do while visiting this natural habitat such as biking, hiking, fishing, horse riding, camping, and more. Take your pup on a day hike that passes through cottonwoods and meadows.
The park’s scenery allows the perfect opportunity to capture those glamour shots. Sandy River Delta Park makes for an excellent backdrop for that family photo, or that perfect selfie.
The eastern region of the trail routes passes through open picturesque views of the western Columbia River Gorge and is popular among dog owners. You are sure to encounter plenty of charming views.
Your dog(s) will thank us after spending the day frolicking and releasing their zoomies in the wild all day with their favorite humans! Your fur friends can splash around in the river or just wade and cool off.
Who’s the leader of the pack? Your dog(s) will love exploring the wide-open spaces in the fresh air and we think you will too. Don't forget to capture the moments along the way. Some of the multi-use trails include: Confluence Trail, Boundary Trail, Meadow Road, Meadow Trail, Ranch Dike Trail, and Old Channel Trail ranging from .25 miles to 2 miles in length.
Sandy River Delta Park is sure to win you over, and more importantly, your dog(s) will have an experience like no other. Find a quaint and cozy spot to watch the Oregon sunset, a perfect ending to an adventurous day. What a photo op!
