I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.

Here in Oregon, there are plenty of scenic routes available for bikers. But a bike trail that passes beneath a covered bridge? Now that’s a horse of a different color! Campus Way Bike Path in Corvallis, Oregon, is a flat, straightforward trail that journeys right across the Irish Bend Covered Bridge. Also known as the Irish Bend Covered Bridge Trail, it’s an incredibly scenic, out-and-back route that’s just over two miles long, and makes for a perfect little mid-afternoon adventure!
The Campus Way Bike Path begins at the western end of Oregon State University’s campus in Corvallis.
The Irish Bend Covered Bridge, which spans Oak Creek, was constructed in 1954 at a different location just south of Corvallis, and moved to its current spot in 1989.
This particular style of bridge features a series of chords, verticals, and diagonals, all working together to create a beautiful piece of architectural art.
Outside the bridge, the trail continues through some of Oregon's most pristine, pastoral landscape. Then, you'll turn around, and head back to the university campus, soaking in the beautiful scenery once more.
