Brunch might be the best meal of the day. You get to sleep in a little bit, and still enjoy delicious breakfast food (or lunch food, if you’d rather). There’s a wonderful little Nordic Diner in Hood River that we’ve fallen in love with, and its menu is full of authentic eats. Check out Broder Øst:
Broder Øst is a delightful little restaurant serving up Nordic food for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
You'll find it at 102 Oak St. #100, Hood River, OR 97031.
You'll love this light, airy dining room with rich wood floors, soaring ceilings, and a friendly vibe. It's the perfect place to meet friends for brunch any day of the week.
The favorite on the breakfast menu is definitely the Danish pancakes. These little pancake balls are dusted with powdered sugar, then served with lingonberry jam, maple syrup, and house-made lemon curd. They're downright addictive!
The Swedish Hash is a filling breakfast to start your day off right. The tasty hash includes cubed potatoes, onions, and peppers, and it's topped with two baked eggs and pickled beets. Add in some walnut toast, and you've got a breakfast fit for a Viking.
If you're really hungry, order the Swedish Breakfast. It comes with two slices of Danish rye, a yogurt-granola parfait, smoked trout, ham, a hard-boiled egg, fruit, hard and soft cheeses, and rye crisps.
For a more lunch-oriented brunch, try the Swedish meatballs. They're made with both pork and beef, and they're incredibly flavorful. They're served with a sherry cream sauce and lingonberry jam.
