With more than 200 craft breweries in the Beaver State, you’ll need to get yourself organized if your goal is to visit them all. Start with this brewery trail:

When you're looking for the perfect Oregon town, it's hard to beat Bend. It offers tons of scenic beauty, and plenty of outdoor recreation. And if you're a beer connoisseur, you'll love the nearly two dozen craft breweries here. In fact, Bend has the most breweries per capita of any Oregon city!

The folks at Visit Bend have put together a Bend Ale Trail, and you're going to want to explore it. The trail features 18 breweries.

Get yourself a Bend Ale Trail Passport to get started.

You can get one at any of the participating breweries, pick one up at the Bend Visitor Center, or print one at home when you click here. When you visit one of the breweries on the list, get your passport stamped. Once you have 10 stamps, head to the Visit Bend headquarters at 750 NW Lava Rd #160, Bend, OR 97703 to get a prize! Get all 18 stamps for an additional prize (and bragging rights).
There are many ways to enjoy the Bend Ale Trail, depending on your goals. If you love a specific type of beer, you might want to focus on enjoying every brewery's offerings of lagers or pale ales.

Of course, 18 breweries is a lot of stops, and if you got a flight at each in just one day, you'd probably die of alcohol poisoning. Take your time and enjoy this trail over a weekend.

You can also visit a brewery and get your passport stamped without sampling the beer. Many breweries offer tours of their facilities, and you can learn a lot without imbibing.
Make sure to plan plenty of time for snacking along the way, too! Some of the best food in Bend is found at its craft breweries.

You'll be consuming a LOT of beer on this trail, so you'll definitely want a designated driver. Visit Bend has a special gift for the person in your party who's willing to forego the epic craft beer experience in order to keep you safe.

A DD who's dedicated to being alcohol-free for the entire trail is a special friend indeed! Print out your copy of the Ale Trail Passport, then get special DD stamps at each brewery. Collect 10 stamps, and you'll receive a Hydro Flask True Pint. There's one catch: your passport must only have DD stamps - you have to be alcohol-free for the entire trail to get a prize.
You might find that no one in your group wants to be the DD. We can't blame them - after all, who wants to miss out on all that amazing craft beer? No problem! Bend has several companies that offer brewery tours, and you can always catch a cab, Lyft or Uber.
