What's their secret? Well, in addition to a hearty sourdough starter that's in each and every pie, the eatery uses local, seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Chef and co-owner Sarah Minnick calls Lovely's pies "ingredient driven," and they truly are just that: informed by what's fresh, available, and in season.
The result is pure pizza magic: perfect, crispy-crusted pies that are all wholly unique, yet also (miraculously) consistently amazing. Sourdough starters can be moody, but Lovely's seems to have tamed theirs -- dubbed "Jake" -- into submission.
Lovely's ice creams are equally ingredient driven, using seasonal flavors so ripe and fresh they positively sing. Using locally grown Oregon ingredients, flavors change weekly, and include varieties such as boysenberry, fig maple, and strawberry.
