When you’re looking for a magical outdoor experience in the Beaver State, you never have to travel very far. There’s a recreation site in the Oregon Coast Range that offers pretty trails, a gorgeous waterfall, and shady campsites. Check out Alsea Falls Recreation Site:
Alsea Falls Recreation Site is tucked away in the Oregon Coastal Range, just 14 miles west of Monroe. The Bureau of Land Management oversees this pretty spot that's open for camping from May through September every year.
Whether you're just visiting for the day, or staying overnight, there's plenty to see and do here. The recreation site offers drinking water, vault toilets, hiking trails, and plenty of natural beauty.
Take the trail to Alsea Falls to get an up-close look at two waterfalls.
Enjoy the shady trail as you meander through Douglas fir and pretty vine maples. Watch for rhododendrons and other wildflowers. You might see deer, beaver, and even elk wandering through the forest or sipping water from the river as well.
If you'd like to stay overnight, reserve one of the 16 campsites here. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and beautiful forest views. You can reserve campsites online for just $12/night.
Have you visited Alsea Falls Recreation Site? We’d love to hear about your experience there!
