Tucked away in the delightful town of McMinnville is an old-fashioned Oregon burger joint with a twist. Alf’s Ice Cream and Burgers is home to delicious diner-style fare — and a monkey. For a great meal with a side of monkey business, you won’t want to miss a trip to Alf’s. Take a look:
Located in McMinnville, Alf's is a fast food drive-in originally built in the early 1950s. In 1989, when current owner Terrie Rickerd bought the place, it was primarily known for its milkshakes and burgers.
Today, a trip to Alf's promises to be filled with tasty eats and a few unexpected surprises.
From delicious burgers to mouthwatering ice cream, this 1950s style diner has an extensive menu filled with classic favorites.
You'll find plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. On sunny days, the outdoor patio is the perfect hang-out spot.
The restaurant is also home to a monkey resident. This monkey business started after the owner saw a newspaper ad seeking a home for an abandoned capuchin monkey.
Elvis the monkey spends part of his time at Alf's, commuting home with the owner at the end of the day for his daily bath. If you time your visit right, you can play peek-a-boo with him while you eat.
