Horse owners, Woolaroc Museum in Bartlesville is hosting a 15-mile spring trail ride on Saturday, May 15 that will take you along terrain that is rarely, if ever, seen by the general public. This one-day event can be turned into an overnight camping trip on the ranch and it’s an event to remember. Keep scrolling for more details on this epic trail ride.
Woolaroc Museum and Wildlife Preserve is a hidden treasure tucked away in the beauty of Osage Hills in northeastern Oklahoma. The ranch began in 1925 as the retreat home for oilman Frank Phillips and is now an educational museum and outdoor wildlife preserve open to the public.
Throughout the year they host a variety of events and the next one is a 15-mile spring trail ride on May 15. Riders must bring their own horse and gear to this event, as no horses are available to rent.
The camping area is in a primitive wildlife preserve with roaming buffalo and elk. Port-a-potties will be provided and water is accessible 200 feet from the camp.
The ride begins on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. and ends around 3:30 p.m. It is common to see water buffalo, elk, deer, and longhorn cattle along the trails of Woolaroc.
Lunch will be provided around noon and dinner will be served after the ride concludes near the Front Gate Pavilion. Non-riders can join you for meals for an additional $15/person.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged by Wednesday, May 12. While you're at Woolaroc, be sure to stop into the museum and check out all the historical items.
