The small town of Bartlesville in northeastern Oklahoma is a charming, beautiful place with so much to do. With an amazing wildlife preserve just outside of town and one of the most quaint and endearing antique shops around, you’re sure to have a great time with animals and antiques in Oklahoma.
The Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve is a 3700-acre wilflife preserve that Will Rogers once referred to as "The most unique place in this country". With hiking trails, an animal barn, a lodge, and much more, you're sure to find endless fascination with this attraction.
A herd of bison has been roaming the grounds here since 1926. This place is also home to longhorn cattle, llamas, ostriches, elk, zebras, pygmy goats, and about 30 species of animals and birds.
The museum is packed with an amazing collection of Western art and history, including a collection of Colt Rifles, Native American crafts, paintings from Western art "Old Masters", old cowboy gear, and so much more.
The Mountain Man Camp is a re-enactment of the life of fur traders in the 1800s and their life in tipis that they learned to build from Native nations. You can learn to throw a tomahawk, fire a black powder long gun, and learn about the survival crafts from those times.
After spending most of the day among the wonders of the Old West, head into town for some amazing antiquing at Linger Longer Antiques & Old Fashioned Soda Fountain where you can also have a true 1950's soda fountain experience.
The soda fountain serves up yummy shakes, malts, sodas, sundaes, floats, ice cream, and an old-style phosphate and fountain drink. Get a taste of yesteryear right here!
You'll marvel at all the curiosities and oddities and may wonder what various items may have been used for. It's an unforgettable collection of household goods that you can purchase to bring some old charm to your own home.
