I don’t know about you but I’m a sucker for great bbq. Luckily, we have so many great restaurants in Oklahoma that serve up some incredible smoked meats. One such place is Wild Horse Mountain Bar-B-Que in Sallisaw. This rustic dining gem doesn’t look like much on the outside, but that’s okay because they make up for it with their mouthwatering food inside. Keep reading for more details on this must-visit dining gem that’s the perfect place to pig out in 2020.
If you travel along Interstate 40 in northeastern Oklahoma, take exit 308 at Sallisaw and look for the Bar-B-Que sign for Wildhorse Mountain. Head south about 2.7 miles and you'll spot the rustic restaurant on the side of the road.
Inside, you'll find that it's rustic and very laid back. Here, it's all about the food (which is what I like). It's a family-owned restaurant with a friendly staff.
Just look at these baked beans. It's hard to describe how good they really are, so drive off the beaten path and try them out for yourself. And you have to try the homemade hot links...they are incredibly delicious!
Wildhorse Mountain BBQ was established in 1965 by the late Hubert and Betty Holman. Their family still continues on the tradition of great bbq at affordable prices.
Not only are they famous for their amazing beef, pork ribs, hot links, and the best beans ever, but they now sell their renowned BBQ sauce in stores and online.
