Oklahoma has had some strange things happen in its history. And although we couldn’t possibly feature them all, we hand picked a few that have made national headlines. From falling space debris to an “Oklahoma Bermuda Triangle,” these 10 strange events in the Sooner State will have you scratching your head:

1. In Ponca City, a tornado once picked up a house with a man and his wife still in it and set it back down in one piece.

Though the walls and roof were blown away, the floor remained intact and eventually glided downward, setting the couple safely back on the ground.
2. In 2013, a mother from Sallisaw tried to sell her 2 children on Facebook...for her boyfriend's bail. Shown below is an excerpt from one of her Facebook messages:

Her children were 2 years old and 10 months old. She was trying to sell them for $4,000 total or $2,000 each. But when she got desperate she tried getting $1,000 each. The lady was reported to Child Protective Services and was arrested.
3. Lottie Williams, a resident from Tulsa, is the only known person to get hit by space debris falling from the sky.

In January 1997, Williams and her friends were walking in a park in Tulsa around 3:30 a.m., when they saw a huge fireball streaking from the skies. They were admiring it until about 30 minutes later when a piece came falling from the sky, hitting Williams on the shoulder.
4. A 13-year-old boy was arrested in 2011 for using a permanent marker at school. Apparently, the marker was leaking through the paper and onto the desk in an Oklahoma City middle school.

It was a "citizens arrest" based on the fact that the marker ban--which apparently is aimed at curbing graffiti--stems from a city ordinance making it illegal to possess spray paint or a permanent marker on private property (without the owner’s permission).

5. A 16-year-old girl survived a skydiving accident in Oklahoma after plummeting 3,500 ft. to the ground in 2014.
Her parachute malfunctioned and she suffered multiple injuries but was in good condition.
6. In 2013 a man was found dead in Sequoyah County of a severely burned body, but no fire damage to nearby furniture or other items were found. There were no signs of a break-in or struggle.

One possible explanation is spontaneous combustion. Others believe it was caused by a heart attack - then being involved posthumously in the fire which consumed most of his body.
7. Oklahoma Judge Donald Thompson exposed himself during court at least 15 times between 2001 and 2003.

Thompson had spent almost 23 years on the bench and had served as a state legislator before retiring from the court in 2004. Prosecutors said he also used a device known as a penis pump during at least four trials in the same period. He was convicted of four felony courts of indecent exposure for incidents that took place in his Creek County courtroom.
8. "Shamen's Portal" in the sand dunes of Beaver's Dune State Park has been reported as a portal responsible for many mysterious deaths.

All the way back to the days of Coronado, people claim to have seen bright lights coming from the area and people disappearing. Coronado claims he lost 3 men when he crossed over this area on his way to Mexico. They were warned by the natives but didn't heed their warnings. It is said to be, "Oklahoma's version of the Bermuda Triangle."
9. In the early 1900s, Jack Abernathy, known as "Catch-'em-alive Jack," would catch wolves by jumping off a horse, shoving his hand in the wolf’s mouth so it was unable to bite down, and then hold it down until it became docile.

He performed this trick for Teddy Roosevelt during a hunt in Oklahoma in 1905. Roosevelt had a movie made to take back to the East Coast with him. He said, "My friends wouldn't believe what I saw in Oklahoma."

10. This home in Oklahoma City has the “curse of twins.”
