At a population of only 2,127, Waurika is a small town in Jefferson County. The town was as a bustling railroad hub, once upon a time.

There isn't a lot here, but the Rock Island Railroad packs a big, paranormal punch. Dating back to 1912, the building still stands today as a historical landmark.

There have been reports of a library ghost who likes to knock down or move books. Workers claim to have photographic evidence of a 'transparent man' lurking in the back of the library.
What was originally a boarding house for the train crews was later renovated into a house on Highway 70.

In 1994 it was known as Nancy's Antiques, Moneka Antique Mall and Tea Room. Local legend states that a robber attempted a break in during its boarding house days. He was gunned down, and his apparition was reportedly seen by customers of the antique mall.
There are also several abandoned buildings to explore in Waurika, wherein there have been numerous reports of ghost sightings and paranormal activity.

One of the most chilling is a story about a family who moved to Elm Street. The family would hear footsteps -- and be physically pushed on occasion. Truly, there's something nefarious about Waurika.
