Oklahoma is home to a variety of nature trails that are perfect for hiking, biking, and exploring. If you’re in northeastern Oklahoma, head to Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area just west of Tulsa. Here, you can explore over 300 acres of undeveloped woodlands in a majestic setting overlooking the Arkansas River. It’s the perfect spot for nature enthusiasts to enjoy the great outdoors.
Overlooking the Arkansas River in Tulsa is Turkey Mountain - home to miles and miles of some of the best hiking in Tulsa. It's a recreational haven for active lifestyles and the perfect place to go to enjoy nature near the city.
There are nine trails in the wilderness area, most of which are rugged and non-paved. For a relatively easy hike, try out the Blue Trail - a 1.5-mile looped trail that passes by a lake and goes into the heart of Turkey Mountain.
Another cool feature visitors can enjoy is the hammock setups. There are lots of places to hang the hammock in Turkey Mountain or you can find a slackline area at 56th and Riverside.
This little oasis in the heart of the city is truly a spectacular place for biking and hiking. You can visit seven days a week from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
