The warm weather is still staying around in southern Oklahoma, which means you have a few weeks left to canoe or kayak on the Lower Mountain Fork River and enjoy the stunning fall foliage without freezing. Five miles of the river is located within Beavers Bend State Park, known for some of the best fall foliage viewing in the state, and one of the best ways to get a front-row seat is to take a ride down the river.

The vibrant hues of Fall will surround you everywhere you go on your ride down the Lower Mountain Fork River. Peak fall foliage viewing in the park is normally the last week of October into the first week of November.

Along your route, there will be areas where you can pull over and get out of your canoe. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic surrounded by some of the best scenery in the state. Just be sure and bring a sweatshirt and towels so you stay comfy on your canoe trip.
