Skull Hollow Nature Trail is a lesser-known trail in Oklahoma but it’s actually quite spectacular. It’s located inside Hawthorn Bluff Campground on Lake Oologah and has three different routes to choose from. It’s an easy hiking trail that offers peace and solitude with lots of shade and great views. It has an overlook with views of the lake that are absolutely breathtaking. Check it out below:
Skull Hollow Nature Trail is located along the shores of Oologah Lake in northeastern Oklahoma. It is a clearly marked hiking trail that has three options: the short loop, the long loop, or the hiking trail. The price of entry is $5 per vehicle for parking.
The hiking trail is my favorite due to the bluff views of the lake and surrounding scenery. It is 1.3 miles long and is easy but there are a few inclines to navigate.
Along this route, you'll get to enjoy breathtaking lake views. I suggest you bring along a picnic and sit on the side of the lake. It's a popular lake for sailboats so you can usually see them in the distance.
