Tucked away in the Ouachita National Forest is the Winding Stair Mountains and the small town of Talihina. This area is famous for the Talimena Scenic Byway that boasts spectacular views and foliage, but there’s another hidden gem most people don’t know about – The Rock House Restaurant. This destination restaurant is located in a restored 1920s rock house with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Take a look at this beautiful restaurant that’s off the beaten path, but well worth the drive:
The Ouachita National Forest is a National Forest that lies in eastern Oklahoma and is is the oldest National Forest in the southern United States. One of the best ways to see the scenery is to take the 54 mile drive along the Talimena National Drive.
If you travel four miles north of Talihina, you'll come across The Rock House at 52060 Blackjack Ridge Drive. Just follow the long, dirt road until you see the sign and house.
