Tucked away in northeastern Oklahoma is Okmulgee & Dripping Springs Lake & Recreation Area – an ‘Oasis in the Oaks.’ They offer year-round camping, two lovely lakes, a beautiful spillway, and plenty of serenity. You can spend an afternoon, a full day, or make a weekend out of it. Check it out below.
The most iconic spot in Okmulgee & Dripping Springs Lake & Recreation Area is the Lake Okmulgee Dam Spillway Cascade listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After a decent rainfall, a beautiful waterfall flows over, making it a breathtaking spot.
Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy the 3 1/2 mile hiking trail, part of which is ADA accessible. It's surrounded by nature and offers a peaceful and easy hiking experience.
Dripping Springs Lake, known for its timber jetting out of the water, makes for a superb habitat for trophy bass. Plus, the sunsets aren't too shabby either.
