If Norman Rockwell were alive today, Pawhuska, Oklahoma, would be a place of inspiration for his paintings. This charming town is the poster child for everyday American life in the country and during the holidays the magic of the season radiates from every corner. The buildings and trees sparkle with white lights, and the sights and sounds of Christmas can be found all around. This holiday season, if you’re looking to jump into a magical Rockwell painting, head to Pawhuska where you’ll find an authentic small-town Christmas setting that’s perfect in every way.
Welcome to Pawhuska, one of the most charming small towns in Oklahoma! If you haven't heard, The Pioneer Woman opened up several businesses in town over the last decade, making it a popular destination spot for travelers all across the country.
The town is charming all year long but the added Christmas decorations make this place look like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. The city puts up a tree right in the middle of Downtown and it really sets the stage for all the other festive decorations.
The Pioneer Woman's Mercantile is a staple business that draws in thousands of visitors every year. During the holiday season, they decorate inside and outside the business and it's as festive as can be.
There's even a little ice cream and candy shop that dresses up for Christmas and it's the perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth while enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas.
The Drummond Ranch Truck (owned by the Pioneer Woman) can also be spotted around town and if this doesn't make you feel like you're in a Rockwell painting, then not much else will. If you can grab a family pic in front of it, it's about the cutest backdrop you can find during the holidays.
This picture-perfect town really comes to life during the holidays and on December 3, 2022, there will be a Parade of Lights through the historic downtown area from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
