One Oklahoma tradition you don’t want to miss is visiting Morgan’s Bakery in Tahlequah for mouthwatering sweets. For more than 70 years they have been making birthday cakes, pastries, cookies, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, and pretty much anything sweet you can think of.
Morgan's Bakery opened its doors in 1948 in Tahlequah, and still to this day, bakes many of the same recipes. It's been a staple in the community with generation after generation visiting, and we think you're going to love it.
They still try and make everything the old fashioned way...from scratch. Many recipes are still the exact same as when they opened their doors more than 70 years ago.
So what are they famous for? Pretty much everything, but The Tiger Cookie is world-renowned. In fact, they ship these cute things all over the world at the request of customers. They are magically delicious and so soft, on top of being totally adorable.
You'll love all the space to sit and enjoy your sweets, breads, and treats. They are in the middle of downtown Tahlequah so there's always people in and out of the place.
Have you ever visited Morgan’s Bakery? If so, what is your favorite item to order? For more information, visit their Facebook page here.
If you’re traveling along Route 66, keep an eye out for a small bakery tucked away off to the side in Claremore. It’s located on a small dirt road, with not much around, but it’s another fantastic bakery in Oklahoma. Read more about it here.
