If there’s one thing El Reno, Oklahoma is known for it’s the Fried Onion Burger. Many places in town have become legends for perfecting this food item and one to put on your food radar is Sid’s Diner. This little burger joint has been making some of best fried onion burgers since 1989 and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Born during the Great Depression, the fried onion burger was created in El Reno, Oklahoma out of a necessity for saving money when times were tough. Onions were cheap and meat was expensive, so why not add more onions and less meat, the locals thought.
