You wouldn’t think the largest collection of the “most dangerous shark known to man” would be located in Oklahoma but it’s true. The Oklahoma Aquarium houses 10 bull sharks in its Shark Adventure Exhibit and it’s quite mesmerizing. The aquarium is located in Jenks and is open to the public seven days a week. It is also the largest aquarium attraction in the four-state area and is home to a variety of animals and exhibits, so you can see sharks and much more.
The Oklahoma Aquarium is located at 300 Aquarium Drive in Jenks. The aquarium is open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. except on Tuesdays they are open until 9:00 p.m.
This collection of bull sharks is the largest group in captivity in the world. The sharks also participate in research that helps save lives, so they are more than just a pretty attraction to view.
They also have one of the few theaters in the world that has a shark tank as the background. They host special events such as sleepovers with the sharks and showings of the movie Jaws.
Be sure and check out Sea Turtle Island, a 58,000-gallon exhibit with multiple levels so you can view the turtles from above and below. The exhibit is home to seven species of sea turtles and they are all adorable to watch.

If you enjoy animal encounters, be sure and visit The Endangered Ark Foundation in Hugo, a one-of-a-kind elephant ranch that is home to the second largest herd of Asian elephants in America. They are a non-profit organization that provides circus elephants with a place to retire, and they educate Oklahomans about this endangered species.
