Mark your calendars for one of the coolest festivals of the year – The Poteau BalloonFest – October 19-20, 2018. This balloon festival is the longest running of its kind in the state and you don’t want to miss all the activities and family-friendly fun.
Keep scrolling to get all the details:
The Poteau BalloonFest is held at the Le Flore County Fairgrounds at Hwy 271 South in Poteau. The 2018 dates are October 19-20. Plan on attending both days because there are different activities scheduled each day.
Both evenings the hot air balloons will do a dramatic glow as they perform with burns, flickers, and the wave. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the magical show!
When the balloons are not in the sky they will be in a special section where visitors can see them up-close. Pilots will be around to answer any questions about ballooning and show you the baskets.
The balloons will fly between the hours of 7 a.m. -10 a.m. and 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. I'ts all based on weather, so check their website or Facebook page for the latest news.
