Oklahoma has so many wonderful historical landmarks to visit. It would take you weeks to visit them all. If you’re looking for a charming small town where you can visit several of them in one day, look no further than Guthrie, Oklahoma. As the first capital of Oklahoma, the town is not only historical but insanely adorable. From Victorian architecture to the Wild West spirit, Guthrie is a beautiful gem in the Sooner State that’s worthy of a visit. Check out three historical landmarks below that we highly recommend you visit while in town.
While in Guthrie, be sure and stop into Mark’s Drugstore. It opened in 1953 and is one of the oldest operating drug stores left in the Sooner State. This small town drugstore is still family-owned and operated and is a local hangout where everybody knows everybody. You can get your morning coffee, pick up your medicine, grab a gift and so much more. As they say in Guthrie, “You have not seen Guthrie if you don’t visit Mark’s Drug!” Click here to read more about it.
