Hiding in northwest Oklahoma is the state’s largest outdoor swimming pool — Gage Artesian Beach — a spring fed by a lake that's the perfect place to go during the hot, summer months for an enjoyable afternoon swim in fresh water.
The natural swimming area is formed from the Artesian Lake in the park and is the size of five football fields. Depths reach up to 14 feet in parts, making it perfect for diving.
Gage Artesian Beach is located in the small town of Gage, Oklahoma, at E. Independence & State Highway 15 in western Oklahoma. The mineral water is so refreshing and draws visitors from all over the state, as it is believed to be "healing water."
For a nominal fee of only $2 per person, this beach offers an affordable outing for the whole family. The park is open seasonally from Memorial Day to Labor Day and offers restrooms, concessions, and picnic tables.
