Do you enjoy swimming in water where you can see what’s below you? I do, I do! You might not think Oklahoma has blue water swimming holes with all of our red dirt, but there are a few lagoons tucked away where you’ll find some of the bluest water in the state. One of my favorite places to escape the heat is in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur.
Little Niagra in Travertine Creek is located in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, Oklahoma, about 10 miles to the east of I-35.
So, you not only get to swim in crystal blue water, but it's refreshingly cold. Plus, you can bring your own flotation devices and float around all-day long.
Chickasaw National Recreation Area also has several creeks, ponds, nature trails, and astounding beauty. After your swim, put on the hiking boots and explore everything this land has to offer.
Visit Chickasaw National Recreation Area at 901 W 1st Street in
Sulphur year-round any day of the week, at any time of the day. Yep, that's right, they are open 24 hours a day!
