Life in Claremore wouldn’t be the same without the landmark eatery – Hammett House -that’s been serving Oklahomans for almost 50 years. Their Oklahoma hospitality, excellent food, and family atmosphere has made this place one of the top comfort food restaurants in America.
Hammett House has been in business since 1969 and has continued to show friendly Oklahoma hospitality year after year. It is a Claremore landmark located at 1616 West Will Rogers Boulevard.
It's the kind of place you'll find all the locals eating because the hospitality and food are outstanding. There's nothing fancy about the inside...it's a no frills kind of place and we love it that way.
The dining room offers several sections, including one with a cozy fireplace. The whole place is so inviting and offers a restful atmosphere for weary travelers or locals looking for night out of the town.
Appetizers include Bill's Bloomin' Onion - served with three of your favorite dipping sauces. But for something truly unique, try the Alligator "Bites" - "pamper-fried" with an orange marmalade-sriracha sauce.
Their menus is seriously one of my favorites. You'll find your staples of fried chicken and mashed potatoes, but you'll also find items with a twist of flavor that you wouldn't expect.
The dessert menu has some tried-and-true staples that are always on the menu, but you'll also find a rotation of specials that will blow you away. You can order a slice of pie or take a whole pie home. It's best to call ahead 24 hours in advance for whole pies because they are the best around.
