But, one of the most interesting is that of this mansion said to be haunted by the ghosts of those who lived… and died here.

It was built in 1928 by Arkansas native William Edward Grisso, a.k.a., Doc Grisso.

A pharmacist by trade, he operated the town's only drug store and even served as the medical examiner for a while.
During the oil boom, Doc Grisso became one of the most wealthy men in the country, soon acquiring land and mineral rights all over.

But, the way he got these rights isn't clear and most people believe that it was probably sinister.

The story becomes more plausible when we consider that Suda died just a few months later. And while the cause was not deemed to include foul play, most believe that Doc Grisso - being the medical examiner - gave him knowledge of just how to poison someone undetected.
Today, paranormal investigators believe that Suda and a boy who calls himself Micco spend their days in the basement of the Grisso Mansion where the formal ballroom was built.

The impressive Grisso Mansion, features 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms eight fireplaces, a conservatory, vineyard, multiple fountains, and a pool.

And signs of spirits have been reported.
From moving furniture to pianos playing on their own to unexplained deep and heavy breathing, most paranormal experts and even visitors taking tours have witnessed things that just don't feel right.

In the past, ghost tours and evening investigations have been offered to the public. While the Grisso Mansion is closed, it still offers a lot to think about if you love ghost stories and unexplained spookiness.

Take this haunted road trip in Oklahoma to the scariest places. Here are a few stops from the list.

  • Ingalls Ghost Town (12398 E. 19th Ave., Stillwater, OK): Settled in 1889, this eerie place was once home to about 150 residents. Once a relatively peaceful town, it became a hideout for the infamous Doolin-Dalton gang where a shootout took place called the "Battle of Ingalls," between the gang and the U.S. Marshals on Sept.1, 1893. All you'll find there now are a few old buildings, including replicas of the Pierce O.K. Hotel, a stable, a general store, and a saloon. About 192 folks live there today, and eerie feelings have been reported while walking through town.
  • St. Vincent Asylum (3500 NE 23rd St. Oklahoma City, OK): Horrible tragedies befell this mental hospital for men that opened in 1945. Murders began to surface here beginning in the 1960s. The first reported incident involved a nurse who allegedly suffocated two patients. The hospital was closed in the 1980s and has been the subject of a long paranormal history. If you dare go, do not enter the building without permission.
  • Sacred Heart Mission & Cemetery (N3480 Road, Konawa, OK):  It was a fire that sadly destroyed this mission in 1901. Built in 1880, the multipurpose facility was used as a seminary, a school, a farm, a chapel, and a boarding house. A fire in the dining hall destroyed most of the facility and tragically killed many of the children. It is said that their spirits have never left and still haunt this spooky structure. Other ghostly reports include Native American ghosts and some demonic activity.
