There’s a section of northeast Oklahoma that’s referred to as “Green Country” due to its lush green landscape. Head to this area to Natural Falls State Park and you’ll find one of the greenest spots in the state. If you’ve never been, get ready to be transported to an enchanting lush world.
Take a look:
Natural Falls State Park is an otherworldly place that is filled with magnificent green scenery. It's located in the in the Ozark Highlands on US-412 in Colcord.
As you enter the park, you'll feel the coolness as the green canopy covers you with shade. There are 3 hiking trails, so bring your boots and go exploring.
The park is also home to the second tallest waterfall in the state. It cascades over rock formations, creating a stunning atmosphere at the end of a valley.
If the park looks familiar, you might remember it from the movie "Where the Red Fern Grows." Several scenes were filmed in this lush park and you can see why!
