In Oklahoma, these words have a special meaning for some that evoke a feeling of pride and nostalgia. If your looking for an interpretation or a good laugh, here you go…
1.) "Howdy"- Just a friendly Oklahoma hello.
2.) "Okie"-Were not all from Muskogee, nor rednecks but were are ALL Oklahoma proud.
3.) "Twister"- Not the game you play with your kids, but a real twister...as in take cover!
4.) "Cowpie"- The polite way to say cow dung.
5.) "Packin"- No, not get packing, but are you packin? Basically, are you carrying your gun?
6.) "Thunder Up"- Proud to chant this all the way to Seattle and back! Our state's rockin professional basketball team.
7.) "Pokes"- Go Pokes! = OSU Fan = Stillwater = Cowboys = Orange...Did I miss any?
8.) "Fraidy Hole"-The term grandma uses for tornado shelter.
9.) "Ice Box"- The refrigerator in the garage that holds the beer...or just a fridge.
10.) "T-Town"- Tulsa, the 2nd largest city in the state, is popular for its arts, entertainment, and culture.

13.) "State Fair"- Out-of-towner's don't understand the excitement when we tell them we are going to get cheese curds, funnel cakes, and see the world's smallest woman.

16.) "Boomer Sooner"- Music to the ears of OU fans. If you hear Boomer! You better be ready to shout Sooner!
17.) "Fried Okra"- It's no secret we like things fried...especially our okra.
18.) “Fixin to”- Getting ready to.
19.) “Piddling”- Wasting Time
20.) “All Y’All”- The plural form of Y’All
