Oklahoma’s population has steadily grown over the past few years and it doesn’t show any signs of letting up. Overall as a state, we have a low cost of living, diverse culture, lots of outdoor recreation, fantastic food and close-knit communities. Take a look at these 10 towns that are at the top of the list of fastest-growing towns in the state.
1. Jenks
Jenks is the fastest growing city in the state, growing at a rate of 5.2% this past year. They have an excellent school system, great quality of life and easy access to nearby Tulsa.
2. Piedmont
Piedmont is an up and coming place to live in Oklahoma. The town saw a 4.3% growth the last year and its business and community development is on the rise.
3. Luther
The town of Luther is known as a friendly community and grew 4.2% over the last year. It's located in northeastern Oklahoma County about 15 miles east of Edmond. The town offers lots of rural areas, clean air, small schools and quiet neighborhoods.
4. Owasso
Owasso is a northern suburb of Tulsa and has seen tremendous growth over the years. There's lots of new housing and retail space, great schools and several parks and outdoor recreational areas. They've seen a population growth of 3.7% this past year.
5. Goldsby
Goldsby is a town in McClain County and is home to the second largest casino in the state - Riverwind Casino - which draws in a large amount of business for the town. They ranked the 5th fastest-growing town in the state, with a 3.2% growth last year.
6. Roland
Roland is located near the border of Arkansas in Sequoyah County. It boasts an array of rural land and gorgeous scenery and has seen a growth rate of 2.9%.
7. Mustang
Mustang is a growing city in Canadian County and is part of the OKC Metropolitan area. It offers a quality relaxed lifestyle, with all the amenities of a major city nearby, along with affordable housing.
8. Bixby
Bixby has seen a solid growth of people and new businesses over the years. It has easy access to everything Tulsa has to offer and is a safe, family community.
9. Harrah
Harrah, America is known as the "Heart of the Heartland" and is a town of about 5,000 residents. It is within a close distance to Tinker Air Force Base and Oklahoma City, so you can find everything you need within a short distance.
10. Glenpool
As part of the Tulsa Metropolitan Area, Glenpool offers affordable living, new housing developments and good businesses. They rank #10 for the fastest-growing town in the state, with a growth rate of 2.6%.
