Ready to head outdoors for a little adventure and sightseeing? Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park is the perfect place to explore the red canyons of Oklahoma in a gorgeous setting. Guests can hike, rappel, camp, or enjoy the serenity of nature. This park is a hidden gem and perfect for a family outing. Stay for the day or extend your trip and pitch a tent next to the cliffs.
Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park was formerly a state park but was taken over by the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation and leased to the city of Hinton. The park features 310 acres and is a hidden gem about an hour west of Oklahoma City.
Lace-up those hiking boots because there are two hiking trails in the park that travel through a forest, along the canyon rim, and one that follows the path of an old pioneer trail.
If you hike to the top of the canyon rim, the views are breathtaking. Just be sure not to get too close to the rim as the ground can be unstable and dangerous.
The park is full of activities for the whole family. There is a small pond perfect for fishing, a pool that is open during the summer, camping, hiking, and more.
Speaking of camping, imagine pitching a tent right up against the canyon walls for a beautiful view. Camping spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
You can learn more about this park, including admission prices on its website.
