Start your journey at Broken Bow Lake or The Lower Mountain Fork River, both of which will leave you in awe over the majestic beauty in this area. The water is crystal-clear and the surrounding foliage is breathtaking.
Next, head over to Gypsy Brew in Broken Bow and refuel with coffee, shakes, pastries, and more. It's the cutest little place that will have you energized in no time.
One of the most beautiful places in Oklahoma is Chickasaw National Recreation Area. This area is known as an oasis and for good reason. There are mineral and natural springs throughout the area that you can swim in and it's a refreshing place to visit on a hot, summer day.
Take a lunch break at Main Street Restaurant in the town of Davis. This highly rated dining gem serves Southern-style food and if you're a fan of chicken fried steak, you will love the gigantic one they serve.
After your belly is all filled up, you'll head to Turner Falls Park, home to the tallest waterfall in the state. You can view the falls from an observation deck or you can get out of your car and explore the area. If you have some extra time, bring your swimming suit and take a swim in the falls.
After you enjoy a refreshing outing at Turner Falls, you'll drive about two hours until you come to Meers Store & Restaurant in Lawton. This little hole-in-the-wall serves the best burger in Oklahoma...no joke. Don't skip this stop or you'll regret it.
The last stop on this sightseeing road trip is the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. From vast recreation areas to endless trails, these mountains can take you on multiple excursions without breaking the bank. You don't even have to get out of your car...you can drive the road and see it from the comfort of your vehicle.
