I don’t know about you but when it comes to the water I drink, I’m pretty picky. In the last year, I stumbled upon Devine Water Artesian Well on Highway 11 and fell in love with the taste of their water. It’s clean, cold, ready to be enjoyed – and the best part is, it’s free of charge. Grab your 5-gallon jugs and head to Cherokee County to drink from the Artesian well that’s loaded with minerals and always open to the public.
The Artesian Well on Highway 11 was drilled in 1954 and since that time, has been available to the public at no charge.
In 2003 the land and well were bought by McDermott Living Trust from the Brickman Estate and DeVine Natural Water was started as the distribution arm of their water business.
It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is conveniently located just off Highway 11 between Alva and Lamont. Many people believe the water has magical healing powers and will travel far distances to drink it.
The water is unlike any other you've had in the state. It's not very often you find free flowing Artesian water right from the source. It's always clean, cold, and ready to be enjoyed.
When you stop to fill up your jugs, you'll most likely encounter other visitors filling up their jugs. There is also a small parking lot just outside the fence, so you can load up the water jugs without traveling too far.
Have you ever stopped and filled up your jugs with water from the well? If so, tell us what you think is so special about the water in the comments section.

While you’re in the Alva area, stop by Bradt’s Mammals and More – the largest petting zoo in the state. You can read all about this fun, family attraction here.
