Fun Fact: In 1873, the Federal General Land Office issued a map that included the "Glass Mountains." In 1875, another map was issued, but the mountains were called the "Gloss Mountains." It's thought that the draftsman of the second map misread the name, and substituted the "a" with an "o," but the second name stuck.
