This Oklahoma Hike Leads To The Most Awe-Inspiring Lookout
There’s nothing like getting out into nature to inspire a sense of wonder about the beautiful state we live in. The Gloss Mountains are some of Oklahoma’s most unique jewels, and this hike takes you right to the rim of Cathedral Mountain, where you’ll get a view of some awe-inspiring scenery.

The Gloss Mountains are one of Oklahoma's true gems. The selenite that's present here makes them glimmer and glisten.
Fun Fact: In 1873, the Federal General Land Office issued a map that included the "Glass Mountains." In 1875, another map was issued, but the mountains were called the "Gloss Mountains." It's thought that the draftsman of the second map misread the name, and substituted the "a" with an "o," but the second name stuck.
