Spring is right around the corner and you’ll soon be searching for outdoor activities to enjoy the beautiful weather. There’s a butterfly forest in Oklahoma that’s one of the coolest family attractions to visit. Keep scrolling to get all the details on this open-air attraction.
The Butterfly Papilion is located at Honor Heights Park at 1513 North 48th Street in Muskogee. The park is open year-round but the Butterfly House is a seasonal attraction - open the Saturday before Mother’s Day weekend through September 30.
It's the only Butterfly House in Oklahoma, making it a popular attraction in northeast Oklahoma. It's an open-air sanctuary filled with 26 varieties of butterflies.
Hundreds of butterflies fly around and welcome you to their habitat. All butterflies are free-flying, so it's a fun experience seeing them glide by you as you walk around.
You'll also find other gardens filled with seasonal blooms. Tulips bloom for only a couple of weeks during the year, and if you catch it just right, it's quite spectacular.
Honor Heights Park is also famous for its annual Azalea Festival. Thousands of people visit the park every year to admire all the different varieties of flowers that brighten up the area.
After visiting all the beauty outdoors, step inside The Butterfly Papilion Gift Shop where you'll find cute butterfly gifts, gardening books, and fun things to take home.
