Tishomingo’s majestic Blue River is one of the last streams in the state to flow from it’s natural source without the interference of man-made structures controlling its flow. The water level is currently normal and 73 degrees, and is one of the most beautiful hidden gems in the Sooner State. Check out this river that is the perfect spot to spend a summer’s day.
The Blue River starts in Johnson County and flows southeast to the Red River. Blue River is two hours from Oklahoma City and two and one half hours from Tulsa.
The Blue River is famous for its abundance of trout. It's also filled with small-mouth bass, black bass, crappie and blue catfish. It's one of the best spots to fish in the state.
Get ready to be blown away by the clear, blue water that gives this river its name. Blue River is a great place to wade in the water, jump off rocks or just relax under the sun.
It is a Class II-III river and is perfect for kayaking or canoeing. Please note that you do have to bring your own water toys, there are no outfitters allowed along the Blue River.
