Take a step back in time to the Civil War at the Battle of Round Mountain reenactment – a two-day recreation of the first battle fought in Indian Territory during the Civil War. This winter encampment takes place over multiple days in Payne County as Confederate and Union soldiers advance towards each other on the battlefield – and visitors are invited to come out and watch this historical and entertaining event. Every February, the town of Yale hosts the Battle of Round Mountains Re-enactment and it's such a great experience to step back in time to the Civil War.
The 2020 re-enactment will be the 30th year the town has put on the event. Everything is so real looking and the actors all do a great job making it feel very realistic.
The Battle of Round Mountain was the first battle of the Civil War that was fought in Indian Territory and if you attend, you'll learn all about the two sides and the struggle they endured.
Come out and enjoy a unique weekend at this historic battle - there will be camping available, shopping, the reenactment itself, dancing, personal visitations with the re-enactors, historical facts, and lots of fun for the whole family.
