Did you know there’s a working alpaca farm in Oklahoma where you can get up close and personal with these fuzzy animals? Located in the town of Jones, Just Right Alpacas is a family-owned farm that’s a haven for these adorable critters, and the best part is, they love visitors. Once you visit, you’ll never forget your time at this unique farm in the Sooner State. Take a look:
Just Right Alpacas is located just northeast of Oklahoma City at 13301 North Douglas in Jones, Oklahoma. The farm is open by appointment only. You can call 405-590-5720 to make an appointment.
The farm started in 2002 with just two young alpacas and a dream for more. They've grown their herd over the years with solely females... and they are completely adorable.
Small or large groups can visit the farm by appointment. During your visit, you'll get a chance to pet, feed, and interact with the animals. You'll also get a great education on what it takes to raise these social animals.
The owner of the farm makes gorgeous textiles from the wool of the animals and sells the products at the store on site. Buy a beautiful scarf, gloves, socks, or other items, and enjoy the soft wool year-round.
The alpacas are sheared every April, as they do not shed their own fleece. It's much softer than sheep fleece and very unique. Take a trip out to this farm and pet these beautiful animals in person... you'll never forget it!
