The Logan County Hospital was originally planned to become a state-of-the-art facility when its foundation was first laid in 1925. Its construction was financed by the Methodist Episcopal Conference. The Great Depression forced the project to remain incomplete until 1946 when the structure was purchased by the Order of the Sisters of Saint Benedict. The nuns ran the hospital between 1946 and 1964. The hospital was renamed Alvero Heights Hospital when the Sisters of Saint Benedict sold the hospital. It was again renamed 10 years later to Logan County Hospital. The hospital was deeded to the county in 1977 and a replacement facility opened west of Guthrie in October, 1978.

The Logan County Memorial Hospital is located at the intersection of 19th street and Warner Avenue in Guthrie.

The five-story, 55,000-square-foot building was supposed to be remodeled into 50 to 70 one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments but the project never got off the ground.

Police have warned that the building is structurally unsafe and that trespassers will be prosecuted.
