Who’s ready to celebrate the 4th of July with a bang?! If you’re like me, you’re probably already searching for the best firework shows to attend close to home. You can find them in almost every city in the state, but if you’re looking for the best, check out these 7 firework displays below.
1. Folds of Honor FreedomFest - Tulsa (July 4)
The largest fireworks show in Tulsa will be launched from the 21st Street Bridge over the Arkansas River at 9:30 p.m. But that's not all! Starting at 5 p.m. there will be tons of fun activities at Veteran's Park (2100 S. Jackson Ave.) and River West Festival Park (1875 S. Boulder Ave.), so bring the family out and enjoy the whole evening (hosted by Quiktrip).
2. Libert Fest - Edmond (June 23 - July 4)
Recognized by CNN and USA Today as one of the top 10 July 4th festivals in the nation, LibertyFest in Edmond features live entertainment, fireworks, children's activities, and so much more. The event is over a week long and celebrates our nation's birthday, as well as Oklahoma's heritage. It is the largest fireworks display in the OKC metro area.
3. Chickasaw Boomer Blast - Stillwater (July 4)
Fireworks light up over Boomer Lake Park (Lakeview Rd. & N. Boomer Rd.) for the whole town to see. This great event starts at 9:30 p.m. and lasts about 20 minutes. Bring the lawn chairs, blankets, and mosquito spray for an enjoyable night under the stars. (Please note the 2018 changes: This year fireworks will shoot from Lakeview Bridge, and guests can watch the show from Stillwater High School Pioneer Stadium, which opens at 8 p.m.)
4. OKC Philharmonic, Red White & Boom - Oklahoma City (July 3)
The Red, White & Boom Celebration is held at the State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The OKC Philharmonic hosts a free concert, so grab those lawn chairs and plan on attending their fantastic event. Make sure to stay after dark for the spectacular fireworks show...it's truly a magical show.
5. A Celebration in the Heartland - Moore (July 4)
This all-day event begins at 10 a.m. and continues till the fireworks end around 10 p.m. at Buck Thomas Park (1903 NE 12th Street). Some of the events you won't want to miss before the fireworks include carnival rides, a car show, children's activities, helicopter rides, and delicious food.
6. Freedom Fest - Yukon (July 3 - 4)
Thousands of people attend this great show every year at Yukon City Park (2200 S. Holly) and Chisholm Trail Park (500 W. Vandament). There are over 100 acres of family fun, including a spectacular fireworks show on July 4 at 10 p.m.
7. Rockets Over Rhema - Broken Arrow (July 1)
This one-day event is one you don't want to miss! Rhema Bible Church (1025 W Kenosha St.) puts on an event starting at 5 p.m. with an indoor music celebration. From there you'll find the outdoor campus is filled with games, inflatables, food, face painting, racing cars, and more. End the evening watching the spectacular fireworks show around 10 p.m.
