Tucked away in Wilmot, Ohio, you’ll find a restaurant that harkens back to a simpler kind of life. The Amish Door began as a small family restaurant and has blossomed into an experiential trip into another time.
Milo and Anna Kathryn Miller first began serving guests at The Amish Door in 1977. Since then they've grown the business from just a restaurant to a restaurant, bakery, retail, and lodging complex.
Despite the big changes on site, food has always been at the center of The Amish Door experience. Diners can order hearty meals like slow cooked roast beef and salt cured country ham.
Meals are served family-style which adds to the appeal of the restaurant, bringing the community together through food. The original restaurant served 48 people, now it serves 450 friends and neighbors.
A regular farmers market on the property showcases local artisans, famers, and vendors, another way in which the community comes together at this unique compound.
Whether you’re looking for a deeper sense of community and human connection or just craving a good old fashioned meal, The Amish Door welcomes any and all guests with open arms.
