I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
If you’re the type who thinks dining out should be an experience, then you’ll be pleased as punch to learn about today’s feature restaurant. At the world-renowned Cincinnati Art Museum, The Terrace Café is a hidden gem of a restaurant that not only boasts a delicious menu, it also offers guests the unique opportunity to dine surrounded by beautiful works of art.
The Cincinnati Art Museum is a world-renowned attraction in Ohio that attracts art lovers from across the Midwest.
With a mix of classic and modern art, ever-rotating exhibits in a myriad of media, and provocative programming, the Cincinnati Art Museum is easily one of the best day trips for art lovers in Ohio. Even better? Admission to the Cincinnati Art Museum is always free!
Perusing a collection of some 67,000 works of art chronicling 6,000 years of human creativity is bound to work up an appetite. Luckily, there's a wonderful restaurant located at the Cincinnati Art Museum: The Terrace Café.
Open Tuesday-Sunday (view the exact hours on the restaurant's website), The Terrace Café offers a full menu with a variety of soups, salads, and sandwiches inspired by works in the museum's celebrated collection.
While art museums can often be viewed as buttoned-up and a bit intimidating, The Terrace Café boasts a menu that's decidedly rustic and informal: simple sandwiches served with potato chips, classic charcuterie boards, and an assortment of pastries. The Terrace Club is a menu favorite, featuring Applewood smoked ham, smoked turkey, bacon, sharp white cheddar, house-made guacamole, chipotle aioli, lettuce, and tomato, all on perfectly toasted multigrain bread.
Out here, you'll enjoy views of the Cincinnati Art Museum’s pristine Alice Bimel Courtyard, which in our humble opinion, makes this restaurant the perfect way to end an art-filled visit to the Cincinnati Art Museum.
Have you dined at The Terrace Café before? This restaurant at the Cincinnati Art Museum is a true hidden gem that’s the rare combination of aesthetically beautiful *and* incredibly delicious.
