I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
I have a major weakness for all things retro. Perusing a good vintage shop or antique market is a real-life treasure hunt that’s yielded some of my favorite household items. I think, too, these shops remind me of my grandparents’ house, which was filled with knick knacks and decor that delighted me as a kid. As an adult, it’s fun to peruse these places with an open mind, letting inspiration lead the way. And if you’re like me and you also love all things vintage, mid-century modern, and retro, then The Little Light Collective in Columbus, Ohio, is sure to become your happy place, too.
Sometimes, you go into a vintage shop and the whole experience feels a bit... chaotic. Claustrophobic, even. There can be order within this chaos, but for someone who is admittedly very Type A, this isn't my favorite way to shop.
So a vintage shop like The Little Light Collective in Columbus, Ohio -- a vintage shop that's arranged like a beautiful boutique full of carefully curated, one-of-a-kind items... well, it's a dream come true!
Everything about this vintage co-op is, well, cool. The furniture, decor, and clothes come from 35+ different vendors, yet the inventory feels cohesive and harmonious.
Those looking for the kinds of mid-century pieces you'd see on "Mad Men" or '80s shows like "Dynasty" or "Miami Vice" (or, yes, even "Golden Girls") will be delighted by the pieces available at this unique boutique.
Speaking of "unique," some of the items for sale at The Little Light Collective are unabashedly kitschy and totally awesome; home decor accents that are conversation pieces and true style statements.
And in another nod to the past, the window displays at The Little Light Collective are true works of art. These ever-changing pastiches harken back to the days of department stores "going big" with their showroom windows, and the Instagrammable window displays here are wonderfully postmodern and captivating.
The Little Light Collective is the kind of super-cool store you'd expect to find in a major metropolis like LA or NYC, so to have it right here in Columbus, Ohio, is a treat and a delight. What a fun shopping experience!
The next time you’re in the mood for a bit of retail therapy, head to The Little Light Collective in Columbus, Ohio… you never know what you might find! Please note that the store’s hours are Wednesday-Sunday
And while you’re in our charming state capital, you might as well stick around and make a weekend out of it! This adorable townhouse in German Village is a great home base for your trip… and in a nod to your vintage-inspired exploits, it even has its own speakeasy!
