If you’ve ever heard of a tiny town called Peninsula, Ohio, you should know it’s a must-visit that belongs on your bucket list. (And so do these towns.)
Blending natural beauty with modern amenities, this town beautifully preserves a rural setting in an urban environment. It’s truly unlike any other town in Ohio you’ll come across and the surrounding area and townships are worth exploring as well. Here’s a glimpse into what this northeast Ohio gem has to offer for locals and visitors alike:
Part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area, this charming village sits in the middle of the stunningly beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
The park was established in 2000. Peninsula was established long ago, in the mid-19th-century, and much of its history has been preserved.
As of 2010, the population of this quaint Summit County village was 565. Today, it's a gorgeous town full of history, natural beauty and gorgeous scenery.
Depending on how much rainfall the area has seen, the falls are a steady stream or a powerful flow.
The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail runs close to downtown Peninsula, making Peninsula a popular stop for many bikers and hikers, as it is one of the only towns between Akron and Cleveland.
Whether you choose to board the train or not while you're in town, you're guaranteed to love a visit to Peninsula. It's a truly unique town that makes a lovely day trip destination. <3
