Ohio is home to some pretty strange, rather large objects — the largest in the world in fact. From giant foods to downright looming office supplies, anyone looking to find “the world’s largest” something to take a picture with can look no further than Ohio. The following are what’s left of “the world’s largest” artifacts in Ohio (sadly, the cheese wheel and crystal ball have been removed — but it’s pretty darn cool they were here at some point, once upon a time!).
Our list of the "World's Largest Things in Ohio" begins in Cleveland with this beauty.
Because here in Ohio we have a thing for giant food and corn and Dublin took the "world's largest corn field" concept to a whole other level. In this former corn field in Dublin, 109 people-sized corn stalks stand tall and proud, a fun reminder of our state's agrarian roots!

Wash boards are not extinct, despite what you might think...
...at least not until the world's largest one in Logan is gone. This Ohio icon hangs off of what may be the only washboard factory in the western hemisphere, and is located at 14 Gallagher Ave., Logan, OH, 43138.
In 2010, the 24-foot-tall "World's Largest Cuckoo Clock" was moved from its old home in Wilmot to Sugarcreek. It was bought by Walnut Creek Cheese and donated to the Swiss-themed tourist town. The big timepiece was built in 1972, and stood for decades on a hill in back of the restaurant. Every 30 minutes, a three-foot-tall couple on tracks danced the polka to Bavarian music played by a five-piece robot oompa band! In May 2012, the clock was moved to its new, permanent location on Sugarcreek's Main St, where the titanic timepiece resumed its cuckooing duties in November 2012.
His name is Crabby, by the way, and he is 28 feet wide, 67 feet long, and 12 feet high -- not counting its elevated tail. (Weird side note: we are convinced we could spaciously live inside of this thing if we needed to.)
The Longaberger headquarters in Newark wants to make sure everyone knows how serious they are about their product.

The basket is a replica -- 160 times larger -- of Longaberger's Medium Market Basket. It's 192 feet long and 126 feet wide at the bottom, spreading to 208 feet long and 142 feet wide at the roofline. It is truly a magnificent sight to see! We love that this basket is a display of both form and function, as it housed the Longaberger HQ, once upon a time.
Because the world's largest basket wasn't enough... we had to also make sure we had the world's largest apple basket (located in Frazeysburg.) A huge basket, 20-ft. tall, filled to overflowing with large, fake apples, is on the Longaberger Homestead, but is closed to visitors.
Shaped and painted like a giant pumpkin. Promotes Circleville's annual Pumpkin Show festival, billed as "the greatest free show on earth." Now that's a lot of pumpkin spice lattes...
And finally, if you've ever wondered where the world's largest gavel was (and who hasn't?) it can be found in downtown Columbus.
