If Cleveland’s Edgewater Park was a person, it would definitely be a morning person. This charming park is located on the south shore of Lake Erie and its amenities draw huge numbers of visitors throughout the day. Those who arrive early to the park get a special treat, as the sunrise is simply spectacular. There’s nothing like seeing the show in person, so be sure set your alarm when you’re in Cleveland. In the meantime, here’s taste of what you’ll see.
You can't take a sunrise photo without capturing the sign. Several of these epic script signs were installed around the city in 2016, but this location might be the most beautiful. You'll find it at the far western side of the park.
Benches along the shore offer a good place to take in the show. You may want to pack a breakfast and stick around to enjoy the park after the sun rises. After the sun is up, you'll find an inviting 2,400-ft. beach and a meandering walking trail.
The park's fishing pier is a popular place to take in the sunrise and the sunset. It's used by anglers, photographers, birdwatchers are people who simply want to enjoy a good view.
To see the best colors, arrive about at Edgewater Park 30 minutes before the actual sunrise. Sometimes the sky is really dramatic just before the sun appears.
While you can’t go wrong with the sunrise at Edgewater Park, Lakewood Park is another good place to take in the Lake Erie sunrise. It’s located about four miles west of Edgewater Park.
