I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There are so many storybook places in Ohio to explore, from old-growth forests and whimsical waterfalls to woodland-themed playgrounds and real-life castles. Today’s feature destination is a humble Ohio state park that’s home to a storybook trail that’s as accessible and enchanting for adults as it is for kids.
Located in Ohio's Bluegrass region -- one of the state's most scenic and interesting areas -- Adams Lake State Park has much to offer nature enthusiasts.
Remnant prairies and a quiet lake can be enjoyed in this small-but-mighty 50-acre park that's generally quiet and peaceful (save for the ducks, of course!).
The new trail features “Wonder Walkers” by Micha Archer and tells the story of siblings who create their own story about the Earth. It's a wonderful way to get kids excited about the Great Outdoors; the kind of walk that inspires curiosity and imagination.
Adams Lake State Park is the kind of place where you can let your imagination run wild, marveling over the larger-than-life lilies, croaking frogs, and fearless ducks who patrol the premises in search of their next snack -- don't feed them, though!
So the addition of a storybook trail at this Ohio state park? Well, it fits right in and makes the entire experience all the more fanciful and fantastic.
Have you walked the storybook trail at this Ohio state park before? What a fun little adventure! Visit the Adams Lake State Park website to learn more and plan your next adventure.
