I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There are so many beautiful places in Ohio that prompt intense and deep feelings of awe and wonder. Some, like Brandywine Falls or Ash Cave, are well-known natural wonders on pretty much every Ohioan’s bucket list. Others, like today’s feature destination, are smaller, lesser-known spots that are equally resplendent — I’m talking about places like this hidden old-grown forest or this glorious overlook in Eden Park. Up in Lucas County, Kitty Todd Nature Preserve is another such wonder; a 1,400 expanse that, during the warmer seasons of the year, transforms into a wondrous sea of wildflowers.
I am an unabashed language lover with a passion for poetry. When I was in high school, I can remember reading "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth and being enchanted by his romantic descriptions of the world.
"I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."

The words stuck with me, and I have a feeling this poet would have had an equally awestruck response to Kitty Todd Nature Preserve.
